Teaching Like Jesus

Abstract

Pastor Patterson encourages his readers to model their teaching methods after Jesus’: first and foremost, focused on leading others to salvation, with the law that kills and the gospel that comforts; powerful concepts presented and explained in simple words; picture language that makes lessons come alive; parables and stories that reach into a person’s heart; arguments from the lesser (simple for we ordinary humans to understand) to the greater (our relationship with God); using questions to guide a conversation to the right conclusion; and finally living with his students (being part of their lives).
