dc.description.abstract | The essay discusses the importance of Lutheran schools in teaching the gospel and shaping the faith and character of children. Braun emphasizes the biblical command to educate our children and the influence of Martin Luther on the development of Lutheran education. Our fathers believed that Lutheran schools were essential for preserving the future of the church and cautioned against relying solely on Sunday Schools. They opposed Christian parents sending their children to public schools where the religion of secularism and morality over Gospel-centered preaching easily influence young children. The forefathers also emphasized the importance of congregations financially supporting Christian day schools, remembering that Lutheran day schools are centers for preaching the Gospel message. Braun concludes with faith in God's guidance for the future of Lutheran schools. | en_US |
