This paper was written with two main goals. The first goal is to find ways to encourage our young students who are thinking about ministry, and even those who are not, in an efficient way that spotlights God’s responses to Moses’, who declines and does not want to be called by God. The second goal of this writing is for my own personal encouragement on this same topic. Even after six years of pastoral training, a specialized vicar year experience, and the beginning of my eighth and final year of study, I have been faced with doubts and hesitations of my own. It is difficult to go through such a rigorous program without wondering if the gifts are there or if pastoral ministry is something I can do full-time. I hope to find the answers to my objections which will hopefully put me in a better position to address the doubts and hesitations of others.en_US
