    Abstract
Professor Wendland examines the biblical basis for cross-cultural ministry (the “why?” and the “what?” given us in Scripture), the gospel message Christ told us to bring to every people and nation. He then presents some practical matters for consideration: the need to be able to communicate across cultures; defining what culture is; understanding how people within a culture communicate and perceive their world; the need to identify barriers to communication within ourselves; and some useful strategies/behaviors for easing the task of communication. The goal he presents is not to try to make others like us, nor to change the gospel message to suit cultural expectations, but to bring the pure gospel to others within their own cultures, so that we may be one in Christ.
